In this short story, four old friends go on a weekend camping trip to give their departed friend the final sendoff that he deserves. What they don’t know is that there are secrets in the forest that have been preserved and are waiting to come out. After spending the evening celebrating their lost friend’s life they say a few words in remembrance and attempt to turn in for a good nights sleep – but the forest has other plans for them.
I found this story to be an exciting trip down memory lane with a few zombies thrown in for added flavor. The characters are likable and the action is fast paced. If I were reading this for the first time I would like the way that the author had bonded the reader with the characters – you feel like you know these guys, like you may have hung out with them at some point in your life, and can relate to the memories that they share around the campfire.
